About us
How it
Started
Food Forest Collab was born from a simple belief: where a woman is born should not determine what opportunities are available to her.
Founder Hillary Peterson and Executive Director Megan Downey had spent decades building careers, relationships, and access to resources. They knew how life-changing those opportunities had been in their own lives and wondered: what if they could use those same networks to create opportunities for women who lacked access? Again and again, they discovered that meaningful change often starts with a connection: a mentor, an expert, a customer, or a strategic partner.
Inspired by the power of collaboration, Hillary and Megan brought together a group of like-minded women to form the Founders Circle, leveraging their collective expertise, relationships, and resources to help women entrepreneurs and farming communities thrive. Food Forest Collab exists to bridge the gap between potential and access.
