How it Works

The Model

Food Forest Collab provides women with the long-term support, infrastructure, and market
access needed to become successful entrepreneurs, building regenerative businesses that

nourish communities, restore ecosystems, and create lasting economic resilience.

WOMEN'S FARMING COOPERATIVES

Women form and run cooperatives

in their communities to grow food forests. We connect them with the capital, training and resources needed to preserve, regenerate and operate a community led enterprise.

COMMUNITY COLLAB CENTERS

Food Forest Collab provides the resources and training for community processing centers that prepare products for regional and global marketplaces.

GLOBAL MARKETS

We connect the women-led cooperatives with global buyers for things such as avocado oil and mango butter, creating pathways to generational stability.

When Women Lead, Communities Thrive

  • Women-Led Farming Collectives.
Women organize, grow, process, and sell ethically sourced products such as avocado oil, moringa, jojoba oils, and dried fruits. With access to tools, seedlings, training, and mentorship, they move from individual production to collective power, building businesses that restore land and generate lasting income.

  • Local Processing Infrastructure.
We provide the equipment communities need to keep more value close to home, including dehydrators, cold storage, oil presses, grinders, and other essential processing tools. This infrastructure transforms raw harvests into shelf-stable, market-ready products and turns local abundance into sustainable economic opportunity.

  • Global Market Access.
We connect women-led collectives to buyers in the food, beauty, and wellness industries, securing high-value, ongoing contracts that create reliable income, strengthen livelihoods, and open a path from regenerative farms to global markets.

  • Education & Leadership Development.
Women receive practical training in regenerative farming, food preservation, business development, climate adaptation, and collaborative leadership. These skills strengthen both the cooperative and the individual women leading it, creating a foundation for long-term independence and resilience.

  • Financial Autonomy.
We support women in opening personal bank accounts, diversifying income, building financial confidence, and accessing local microfinance opportunities. The goal is not just income, but agency: women gaining the tools to make decisions, plan for the future, and shape their own economic lives.

  • Community Reinvestment.
Twenty percent of profits are reinvested into development projects chosen by the collective. This ensures that success does not stop with one harvest, one product, or one business, but flows back into the community, proving that when women lead, entire communities thrive.
